Sridar Paramalingam is a Swiss qualified attorney and licensed with the Bar in Bern, Switzerland. Before founding Nordwand Law LLC, his professional journey has encompassed diverse experiences across the legal spectrum. His career has been shaped by tenures at prestigious Swiss Law firms, each contributing significantly to his expertise and understanding of Swiss and international law in various domains.
Professional Journey: Sridar commenced his legal career at Peter & Kim, an esteemed international commercial arbitration boutique. As a tribunal secretary and junior associate to Prof. Christoph Brunner, he gained valuable skills in international commercial arbitration, specializing in international sales law, construction, and energy. Working with Mr. Brunner, Sridar gained in-depth understanding of cases involving force majeure, hardship and sanctions. This exposure laid a robust foundation of Swiss contract law and sparked his passion for international arbitration.
White Collar Crime & Investigations: Working within the White Collar Crime & Investigations practice group of Swiss Law firm Kellerhals Carrard, Sridar delved deep into financial crime investigations and Swiss criminal law procedure, gaining valuable insights into navigating complex corporate cases.
Sports Law and Arbitration: Joining internationally renowned law firm Lafranchi Meyer proved pivotal in Sridar’s trajectory. Collaborating closely with Mr. Patrick Lafranchi, a distinguished and high in demand Arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, he immersed himself in sports arbitration on a daily basis. Under Mr. Lafranchi, Sridar was involved in numerous high profile CAS-Arbitrations between national and international governing bodies, federations, anti-doping agencies and renowned athletes, players and clubs.
Education: Sridar completed the Global Master in International Sports Law at the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economia (ISDE) in Madrid in 2024-2025. Before becoming a lawyer, he completed his Bachelor (magna cum laude) and Master of Law (summa cum laude) at the University of Bern. He received the award for the best Master’s thesis of his year with the title:“The Super Expedited Procedure – A Concept for Extra-Fast Commercial Arbitration Procedures inspired by Sports Arbitration”.
